Hiking and photography are my two favourite things to do and as such my choice of subject is reflected in these combined activities. Hiking being the constant and photography being an on again-off again activity. There are times when I do not pick up the camera for months. I’m defiantly one who says, “I wish I brought my camera”.
For me, printing is the ultimate conclusion to taking pictures. I have printed every image on this site and hung the result on my walls. I print on an Epson R3000 that does not seem to mind being off for weeks at a time.
Sophie has been with the team for over six years. Her main task is to evaluate and provide a “People Friendliness Rating”. Though I consider this her primary responsibility, she tends to spend more time investigating the smells on the trail for her “Interesting Smells rating”.
Stanley is the newest member of the team. At two he is uniquely qualified to establish the “Difficulty and Energy expanded ratings” for the trail due to his tendency to cover it more than once per trip. Secondary responsibilities include the “Dirt and Bur accumulation rating”.
I started this website as a form of therapy for my symptoms of depression and anxiety and there is no doubt that these same symptoms influence my images and this site. This is neither good or bad, it just is. Regardless; it seems most of the writing and web management is left to me as my partners are more of the outdoors research only type.
